About the country
Israel presents a unique contrast between ancient traditions and the ultra-modern, liberal Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv is recognised as a world capital of LGBTQ+ culture with an exceptionally high level of acceptance, vibrant nightlife and a famous Pride parade. For Russian-speaking travellers, Israel is especially appealing due to minimal language barriers, a large Russian-speaking diaspora and the opportunity to be yourself in a completely safe environment.
LGBTQ+ in this country
Israel does not perform same-sex marriages domestically, but marriages performed abroad have been legally recognised and registered since 2006. Tel Aviv is one of the world's leading LGBTQ+ tourism destinations with one of the planet's largest Pride parades. Outside Tel Aviv and Haifa, society is more traditional, but foreign tourists are safe and respected throughout.
